Ann Arbor Compost Pickups Extended

Ann Arbor compost pickups is extended through December 4. Ann Arbor residents can place leaves, weeds, brush, and others into paper yard waste bags or compost carts. These compost materials are to be set at the curb before 7 AM on the weekly neighborhood curbside solid waste collection day.
Brush is also accepted as long as they ar tied into bundles 18 inches in diameter and four feet in length. Branches may be up to six inches in diameter. Plastic bags are not accepted.
For those who have the compost cart, they can include grass clippings, uncooked fruits and vegetable scraps in their carts for municipal collection.
The seasonal curbside compost pickups will resume on April 5, 2010. For more details you can login to www.a2gov.org/compost.
The annual street leaf pickups are scheduled to end on the week of November 30 in the final neighborhood sections posted on the Web at www.a2gov.org/leaves.
