Ann Arbor’s Firefly Club Closed

Ann Arbor’s Firefly Club, the home to live jazz music is closed according to the notice posted outside. The jazz bar was closed by the Department of Treasury.
The club is owned by singer Susan Chastain and is located at 637 S. Main St.
In the notice that was posted, the property was said to be seized. There were no more details available but there will be updates throughout the day.
The Firefly Club has marked its ninth anniversary last May. During that time, Chastain said in an interview that their ninth anniversary is a bittersweet because of the slow economy. She said that she is doing everything she can to keep the doors open.
The Firefly Club opened in 2000 in a spot that was occupied formerly by another jazz club, the Bird of Paradise. The Firely’s first address was at 209 S. Ashley St.
