The official selection of this year’s Ann Arbor’s Sundance Film Festival is “Bilal’s Stand” and it will be shown at the Michigan Theater on Sunday, January 31, at 6:00 PM.

Tickets are priced as follows:

Adults – $15
Students – $12
Seniors – $12
US Veterans – $12
Michigan Theater members – $10

Sultan Sharrief, a Michigan native and UM graduated directed “Bilal’s Stand.” This film is about a black Muslim teen who is next in line to take over his family’s taxi stand in Detroit. “The Stand” has been in his family for the past 60 years. As Bilal tries to juggle both his school work and tending to the family business, he develops a secret life where he can attend the University of Michigan. When his two worlds collide, Bilal has now to choose between The Stand or grabbing the opportunity for social mobility.
