AnnArbor.com: Successor of the Ann Arbor News
| No Comment

After 174 years in the industry, it is now time to take a look at the AnnArbor.com, the successor of Ann Arbor News. This has a brand new approach features a blog-style presentation of news under different topics.
In between the news are posts by advertisers which will lead you to another site containing directions and the contact information. Staffs have social-network style photos as well as the members who are registered here. There is a comment thread and the contents are tagged accordingly. If you are a registered user, you can start “conversations” and share the content through different social platforms. The design of this site is simply neat and the design is updated. The photos and the videos have nice large format.
AnnArbor.com has a tutorial video which teaches the user how to navigate through the site and it also points out the things that make the site different.
Twice a week, during Thursdays and Sundays, AnnArbor.com will be printing out the AnnArbor.com newspaper. This is a more viable model instead of the daily prints considering the economic status.
The Ann Arbor experiment will be monitored to see if it can offer a way for newspapers to be fully digital.
