Hiller’s Market will be holding a food fair to celebrate Michigan-made goodies. This will be on May 2 from 11AM to 3PM – 3615 Washtenaw Avenue. Be one among the lucky ones to witness the huge selection of food at the fair. Ferndale’s Garden Fresh Gourmet, Dearborn Ham, Hudsonville Ice Cream and Guernsey Dairy are just some of the 25 Michigan food companies. Paula Tutman will grace the event.

“Finding, nurturing and emphasizing Michigan products is not only good for Michigan and its welfare but good for me and all of the Hiller’s employees, too,” explained CEO Jim Hiller. “My personal mantra is that we are all responsible for our own salvation. Together we can lift this state from the economic doldrums.”

Foot  Solutions

If you belong to those who are very particular when it comes to their feet, you can visit Foot Solutions. The owner, Michael Bell, will hold clinic whole week and offer free consultation on finding the perfect summer sandal. Customers will be assessed by a store representative, measure foot size for proper fir and do pressure scans to know the high areas of pressure. Gait and range of motion is assessed to check foot flexibility.

Well this looked like so much fun I was tempted to see if that would take a 150lb adult on their system.  But I didn’t, maybe I’ll make a special trip there with my gravity challenging daughter and see if she wants to try it out first.

The cost is $7 for a five minutes of the “ride”.  From a distance, the rigging looks safe for people weighing under 75 lbs.  A harness is attached to your waist.  Multiple bungee cords are then connected between the harness and the apparatus that holds the cords in the air.

There were extra bungee cords hanging and I can only assume that as the weight of the jumper goes up or down more or less cords are added to the spring system.  No one bounced anywhere near the top of the mall, but these were very small kids.  I suppose if you added extra chords the force would keep a larger person from hitting their head on the ceiling. 

I saw one girl doing a flip in mid air – very cool!  Need to get the Ann Arbor Planet Rock Climbing team out there for fun.  If you’re a thrill seeker cheap thrills are available for $7 at the Ann Arbor Briarwood Mall Bungee Jumping attraction. Near Von Maur.
