League of Women Voters of the Ann Arbor Area Hosts Candidate Forum

On July 22, there will be a candidate forum for candidates in the August 4 primary election for Ann Arbor City Council hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Ann Arbor Area.

The taping of the said event will be held at the Community Television Network Studio and it will be aired on Channel 19.

In the 3rd and 5th wards of the city, Democrat primaries are there.

The 3rd ward candidates, in the southeastern portion of the city, are LuAnne Bullington, Leigh Greden and Stephen Kunselman while the 5th ward candidates in the northwestern part of the city are Mike Anglin and Scott Rosencrans.

In November, each of the five wards of Ann Arbor will get one City Council seat. Even though there are no Republicans running, there are several indepedent candidates and third-party candidates are expected to emerge later this summer.

If you have questions for the candidates, you may submit then to the League of Women Voters at www.lwvannarbor.org.

Live coverage for Ward 3 will be on 7 to 7:45 p.m. and 8 to 8:30 p.m. for Ward 5. The forum will be shown on Channel 19 many times before the election.
